San Diego is the eighth largest city in the United States. At the 2010 census, it had a total population of 1,301,617. It is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in southern California. Located in Oceanside, Mission San Luis Rey was the largest mission in California. Today, Mission San Diego de Alcala is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
